There are two places for the tierod ends on a 69. Question is what does the outer change as far as handleing and feel? there must be a reason but I would rather have a slower, less "twitchy" feel. Would the outer give me that?
Thanks

YES, inner is more sensative outer is better behavior.
The Chevrolet shop manual says that with power steering you are only to install tie rods in the forward hole in the steering arm (shortest length arm). Interference can result if you install them in the rear holes.
You have the option of using either set of holes with manual steering. You should feel a much higher steering effort if you install tie rods with manual steering in the forward holes. You will have quicker but heavier effort steering.
