I just picked up a set of Hooker sidemounts and side pipes. I didn"t get any of the hardware with them. How do the side pipes attach to the frame / rocker. Should they have some type of rubber mounting washer that goes in the bolt hole on the side pipes or is there a bracket that attaches to the car and then the side pipe tab attaches to it ? Or can I just drill a hole and use a nut/bolt/fender washer attach? Thanks for your help.
Go to Hooker or Summit Racing, or any vendor that carries them and get the hardware pack for easy mounting.
A "T" shapped bolt goes into slots already in your frame, and matches up with the sidetube tabs. The tab protion of tha bolt gets inserted into the slot in the frame then turned to catch the frame top & bottom. A large rubber grommit then gets slid onto the protruding threaded portion of the bolt...then the sidetube tab mounts to that...then another rubber grommit...large flat washer....lockwasher...nut. Mark the tip of the treaded portion so you can tell if the inner tab has spun while tightening the nut.
