'82 CE Paint???
I looked at a 29k mile CE yesterday and both rear quarters had brush marks under the clearcoat. We both agreed that it was done at the factory. Or am I wrong and it happened afterwards. Is this some what common? It was definitely a turn-off...

Yes this is very common but its not from the factory. Its from the clear coat thining. 1982 was the first year for the clear coat and it was not very good. I believe it show more on the CE because on the beige-silver color. You will find alot of CE's re-painted for this reason. So atleast you know the car is orginal. The only thing is that if you do repaint it, which can cost god knows what on LI ($3-$5K) you also need new decals, which costs $1K.

Oh the one on CRAIGSLIST. I seen that one. Pretty good condition. I thinks he is asking $21K now. Might take you awhile but you probably find one better without paint issues for $20K. I am glad I paid $12K for mine.
