Default Corvette Engineering Brake Kit

Just want to give Keith a big Kudos for a great brake kit for our cars. Also a big thank you to the Forum for all the information that helped me out.

Just got my installation completed and car back on the road today. After bedding in, the system works great!! The kit was a straight forward install. I couldn't be happier.

Which kit did you go with and where are the pics you are supposed to post when you finish a mod like this.

Sounds like they work good.

I went with the Laguna front and Black Hawk rear kits. Also replaced all the lines and rotors and installed a Wilwood MC.

This is the next big investment/project that I getting for my car. If you dont mind me asking (if not dont no need to answer) how much was total cost of calipers, mc, and any other hardware or parts needed for install? What was some of the things you needed for install that were unforseen, if any? Can I use SS brake hoses I already have for my stock calipers or do you need to get ones from C.E. Also do you notice a difference in brake response and overall performance? Is there any noticable difference in handling with the reduction of unsprung weight? I am curious so I know what to expect with the kit. Thanks in advance and I would love to see some pics too .

I spent ~$1400 for everything. Rotors and MC from a couple of stores on ebay. Brake lines from Zip. Proportioning valve from Wilcox.

Originally had planned to flush the lines and re-use, but many of the connections were frozen and bubba had rounded off many of them. Also, there was some pretty nasty sludge in the MC. So I decided to replace the works and have all new.

Your rear SS hoses will be reused, the fronts require a different hose that Keith includes in his kit.

Brake response is great. But to be fair, new or rebuilt stockers would probably be the same. The reduction in unsprung weight is significant and I did notice a ride improvement. Can't talk much to handling - havn't driven it a lot yet and my steering is rather sloppy (my next project ). For some reason, the steering is worse now than before the car was placed on jack stands.

This kit's installation was straight forward. All my difficulties stemmed from issues on my car. Always got quick responses to my emails from Keith - customer support was great.

Thanks for the kind word.

And to answer your question James, you may be able to reuse your front brake lines if they are the multi piece type.
the problem is the end that screws into the caliper. It's unique to the Corvette and I can't find an adaptor to save my life.

So I supply new lines in the kit.
