ALCON, Last year I started rebuilding my front suspension and that snowballed into a ZZ4, tranny, clutch, cooling, etc and now I am in the final stages of completion. I was having ignition problems so last night I ditched the old distributor, MSD coil, MSD spark box and installed the HEI that came with the engine. Even though I haven't timed it yet, it runs like a scalded yellow ape. Anyways, thought I'd post my initial victory.
Lastly, I can now tell the newbs that if your thinking of a C3 for a project car, you've got to have patience and perseverance. These cars will test your will. Enjoy the weekend.
Don't you love how something small becomes something large with these cars.
I have never used MSD products but everyone I know with the MSD Ignition box always carries a replacement. On my fast burn motor my buddy wanted me to put MSD in and I said no. I am using the distributor that came with the engine and it works flawlessly. Maybe there great for racing but driving around town I'm not to sure of.
Once you have the car dialed in, it is worth all the time and effort. The strange thing is you start to think about doing another one.
