We got it.......charged it to almost 200 on the high side....pushing 30 low side. Now if it just doesn't leak down. I guess I'll know in a week or so. It's been so stinking hot here....been hitting 95+ everyday for 2 weeks now. It held 30# of vacuum for about 2 hours prior to putting in the R12.
COLD baby!

You should be good to go. All these cars leak some over time. My '73 is unbelieveable cold. The last time I had to add some freon was probably 5 or more years ago to it. If you held vacuum for 2 hrs long I wouldn't worry about a thing.
I guess you found the high and low side ok. It a pain in the neck trying to connect to the low side under the passenger fender I guess you would agree. Tight fit isn't it?

Low side! ....under the fender ?....Uh Oh!
I connected to both right on the back of the compressor!

I have always connected to the low side fitting under the fender but you should still be good to go since Corvettes do have 2 fittings behind the old A-6 Compressors if I remember correctly. I guess they do since your car is plenty cold now.
