any suggestions for swapping out my original 74 radio? Has anyone added something new that might accept an ipod or mp3?

Also, what have you done for speakes. i want to keep this as stock looking as possible.

 

I just swapped out my old head unit for a Pioneer CD/MP3 that I can also connect my ipod to. Also new Pioneer 6x4 speakers in front and 6x9 in the back. Right now I'm building an enclosure for the new JL Audio 10" subwoofer that I bought!
Spent under $650 for the whole deal.

 

Do a quick search and you will find a lot of recent stereo threads. There is a basic pattern I have been using for these cars and have it fine tuned for an excellent sounding system with an affordable price.
