Default C3 gathering @ Carlisle?

How many Forum members are going to Carlisle with their C3's? I thought it would be nice to get everyone together to BS for a little while. There have been posts where some people are going to be located throughout the event, but it would be helpful if we all had a central meeting point. I will be there all 3 days, but have to leave early on Saturday for my Brother's wedding which is being held at my house. Would you guys be interested in parking all of the Forum C3's in one area as opposed to mixing them up with all of the other generations? Not sure if this is doable.
Your thoughts...

...about 5yrs ago, we were able to get maybe 10-12 Forum Members from here with their C3s and met at Hoss' Steak House right near the Turnpike Exit on Rt. 11.

...I'm leaving early Thursday morning in my Silver '75. Not parking anymore in the Fun Display-just going to be in the General Corvette Parking.

Getting spots together is tough.
When I drove my 74 two years back I didn't have too much say in where I parked...but I also got there saturday morning.
I'll be there this year thursday night but not bringing the vettes. I have to head back to Jersey Saturday around noon. What are the odds my girlfriends bday is the same time as Carsile. Talk about a guaranteed earful every year. Still like to come by and check out these cars I've only seen via my computer monitor and BS a bit.

Why don't we all get together say Saturday morning. Not much going on Saturday AM. I'm thinking we could meet at 10 AM for an hour or so. Not sure where I'm going to be parked either, but should be pretty easy to spot.
I can provide more details as the date gets closer. Hopefully, I may be parking with a Vette club that has a few spots left. I'll let you guys know.

Here is some good advice If you are not on the grounds by 8am with your Vette on Saturday, then you will be sitting in a long long backups on all roads leading to gate 1 and gate 3.

Should be there late AM Saturday, but not with the vette. The wife feels uneasy driving 285 miles with my 13 year old son with out airbags and so on.
So possible noon or 1 pm meeting place on the grounds to have some lunch and shoot the $*%t?

I'll be there very early Friday morning...but not in the Vette...that 427/435 only gets 6 mpg...I'd rather use the money to pick up things I need or want.

I find Friday isn't as bad as Saturday but I also get there by 7am. Fridays I don't drive my Vette because I am buying parts and bring two other guys with me. Saturday I drive my Vette and Sunday if I am not burned out I drive the Vette again.

I will be there with 69ttop502 (Bill). Bill has a "vendor" stand for a nice 72 small block rolling chassis he is selling.

Are the vendor tent cars judged for the show or are they only for display?

Let me know if this comes together- I don't think I can be there Saturday. Maybe have a daily meet on the grounds at a specified time? Might be I hope to meet some of you there so we can about our cars!

The C3 registry DOES have a designed parking area IF YOU REGISTER FOR THE Fun Show... But to be honest its up on the hill (better then the C5 area however)....

I happen to be a Lifetime member of the C3 Registry (www.C3VR.com)
and I still recommend it even if it no longer is free...heck 10 bucks a year is still cheap have one problem get one fix and its money well spent...

The Forum does have a dinner scheduled as usual on Friday evening and as usual will have a Tent up in the Vendor area dispensing lots of BS and a few trinkets etc...

Stop by and say hello to Adam or whoever is there....

I normally drive my 64 as I am in my 60's and have a hard time walking any distance and my Handicapped scooter will fit in the 64 with the top down ...IT will not fit in any of my 3 DC3's nor will it fit in the C5 ....

So If you walk by a bunch of C2's and see a handicapped scooter parked near a Saddle Tan 64 Vert stop and say hello.. Chances are I will not be near the car BUT what the Heck...

Sorry if I violated any rules by mentioning the C3 Registry BUT I'm cheap and IF I wrote a check for a lifetime membership it was only because I felt I got more then my moneys worth especially on repair issues etc...

I'd like to get some of the C3 Forum Members to park next to one another in the flat section of the Fun Show. I already have my three day sticker.
Who else would be interested in getting together early of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday around 0700 hours to get spots next to each other?

Finding ANY unreserved parking places IN THE FLAT area is darn near impossible...especially on Saturday... Oh yes there will be at least a 1000
empty spaces BUT all reserved for various registries etc UNTIL 10:01 AM
when you can Park anywhere...

I have been complaining about this.

Carlisle has for the last few years NOT EXPANDED their list of registries etc BUT all of the exsisting ones are grandfathered in... and if 50 register for the fun show the registry is given 50 reserved spaces etc..

The C3 Registry is on the hill close to the C5 registry... The C2 Registry is right across fro the 40th Anniv Registry which is next to the 35th anniv registry ON THE FLAT.. The Corvette calvary reserves a couple of hundred spaces on the flat also...been that way for at least the last 7-8 years so UNTIL 10:01 all those spaces are unavailable...

Hope they stop reserving spaces for ALL registries SOON... Its more fun
with wide open parking... Remember one year I must have drank half of the Beer The Steeltown Corvette Club had...great bunch of guys..made me welcome and then almost got me drunk...LOL
