Default Ceramic or Chrome Headers with sidepipes ??

OK, so I bought a set of Hooker painted headers and a set of chrome side pipes. I had an oxygen sensor bung welded into the headers for the fuel injection and then had the headers ceramic plated. I dont like where the ceramic headers meet the chrome side pipes. I was thinking of getting some Heat Shields to break up the look where they join. I was then thinking of seeing if I could get the headers chrome plated from where they go under the frame to the side pipes and the top part would still be ceramic plated. Im not sure if this could be done but Im thinking of checking into it.
If I were to buy a new chrome set of headers id have to have them drilled for the o2 bungs.

Any suggestions are are welcome.

Oh yea. the so called wiring guru that wired the car for the engine break in didnt have the o2 sensor working and we ran the engine pretty lean causing the ceramic headers to discolor. Im going to have them replated anyway.

You may want to check with some forum members who have actually polished their ceramic coated pipes and have a very nice finish. Yellow72 is a good example.

You can 600 wet sand and polish the ceramic coating, to me it looks a little like stainless. It's never gunna' match the chrome....

Summit I believe sells the Hooker sidepipes for the vettes that already come drilled for an O2 sensor.

You have to put an X in front of the part number when ordering if you order from Summit

do not order yer ceramic pipes from summit, they rust like crazy within a yr, order them from jethot + jethot has better prices. if u go w/chrome headers they turn colors immediately upon startup i had mine stripped n jethotted in the sterling finish.

Keep the ceramic coating because if you buy chrome headers....over time they start to turn blue and the only way to get rid of it is use the Harley Davison "blue away" and aftertime they look like crap up close,

I'm in the process of going all stainless hookers, plus they match my steelshields.
