I though that the little circuit board might be missing myself, but he says it goes out after the tank is full.
My car was missing the board when I bought it and it had a regular bulb and socket in it's place......it stayed on no matter how full or low the tank was.
Sounds like its working in reverse for some reason.Do this little test in this pic.Put board side down - looking down at bulb.Make sure your circuit board module works like described.The light is supposed to come on with almost NO resitance-same as EMPTY on gage.
EDIT-Where it says pos and neg to batt. -that is pos to pos and neg to neg ---(not both on pos)
