78 Compressor Bracket Pivot Bolt Removal
I thought I had done this before but after about 45 minutes of wrenching I gave it up before I busted something. This is the bolt that runs through the bracket and compressor and anchors in the bracket. It's about two inches out but does not seem to want to ease on out like you would expect any docile bolt. Almost as if its stuck with something internal that's holding it up.
It is out of the outside bracket hole and everything his loose, I've jingled and moved the compressor around but there's not give.
So, what am I missing here?
It should come out when you back the bolt out about 1" and jiggle it.....there isn't anything else holding it in because it threads into the bracket.
But there had been times that it was in a bind and took a little more wiggling and force as usual.
I usually shake the compressor with my right hand and and grab the bolt with the left. Then pull on the bolt very hard and rocking the compressor up and down in the bracket until the bolts works itself out.
