I think those look fantastic on a grand sport and represent the sparse exterior any racer should, but I think it would look funny with front bumpers and I definitely want front bumpers because I'm sure I want to run rears. May be able to hide some small projector lights. Will look into that. Not really familiar with them. Do they have high/low beams in one unit?

Have you seen Showme's headlights? They are glassed into a sharp nose like that, and he has projectors, four total, two lows and two brights.
The projectors are just a housing and lens that focuses the light better.
Just found your thread. You have a great imagination, your car is going to look great. It is a tasteful customization, can't wait to see it finished. Pay no attention to the nay sayers, they probably have no idea of how much work is involved.
I bought a set of junk bumpers a couple of months ago. I thought I was buying a complete set of fronts/rears, but it turns out it was two sets of rears. I got them very cheap because they are in very poor condition. Rather than spend $400 on a set of usable front bumpers that would probably have to be modified to fit the custom front end and certainly need to be rechromed for that price, I decided to modify the rear bumpers. This is the fruit of about an hours worth of labor. Not finished, just tacked heavy. I'm working on figuring out how to make them removable for inspection/night use because they hide my headlights. Ideas?
Have you thought about moving the bumper up some? You'd have to reshape the fiberglass a bit. Your headlights would be below your bumper.
Your pretty good at fabricating, why don't you get a set of fiero headlight assemblies and make something that pops up the top? That would look pretty good.

Pop up's. would be a pain to install, but would be worth it.

If you would be explaining this project to me with no pic or drawing I would think you must have had some head trama or you were a brick short of a load but after seeing the design and build it is clear you have a cool project hear. I have seen maybe 3 or 4 c3"s with radical mods to there appearance that I like or think are decent, but this is by far the best looking body moded c3 I have ever seen! Keep it up man, very cool and cant wait to see her done. I am surprised you havent been flamed by purist who think messing with a vettes body like this is a crime. You should patent the design (if you can patent a design?) and who knows, might be some people who like it so much they will want you to build them one. Good idea I will keep an eye on progress.
Hat-off I Like, Now get rid of the muffelers and you are cooking. Wished you live in the Toronto area I would have love to have seen the finished product
You are truly an artist! I have been following this thread with lots of interest. Keep at it and when you're done you'll have a one of a kind that you can drive and show with pride!
Abilene. I used to live in San Marcos though. I bet you have a blast cruising that beautiful hill country.

Yeah well I've only been here in Austin since '02... I grew up in San Angelo, so I'm quite familiar with the flat, mesquite tree covered land in west TX
That is really coming together well. I also vote for raising the bumper up to clear the headlights. You could extend the vertical section to be longer/lower or leave it as is.
