Check out my new '68
I feel like a member of the club now. I've been on here for a few months now posting on rare occasions and trying to soak up a lot of information. Well I finally got my chrome bumper C3 I've been looking for....
It's a 1968, L79, 4 speed, black on black, PS, PB, posi rear end, originally an A/C car but I only have a few of the parts in hand. The interior needs some work, but the body, paint, and engine are in excellent shape. Needs some more work, vacuum system (headlights work, wiper door doesn't), weatherstripping, alignment, a few minor electrical issues, and the seller swapped out the distributor with a Mallory non tach drive so I've got to do something so I have a working tach. 123k miles on the car, engine was rebuilt in 2004.
I drove it home about 3 hours and had the absolute time of my life. It runs great, but I'll be giving her a tune-up next weekend when I have some time (travelling this week for work ).
Enjoy some pics... No need for the lecture about the glass fuel filter either. It will be gone as soon as I'm done on here! Also it looks like a lot of paint chips on the front end, but that's just dirt and bugs from the drive home. She'll get a good bath tonight.

Just another Corvette guy
Beautiful car Neal! I've always loved the '68's and yours is proof why.
Best,

That's one fine looking '68. The only thing to improve looks like some "freshening up" of the interior. Carpeting, seat covers [maybe] and shoot fresh dye on the interior parts will make that car look like new.

Nice looking ride. You gotta love a black chrome bumper vette and yours is a shining example of why. Enjoy the new toy.

Thanks for all of the kind words folks. I was planning on waiting until winter to buy one when the prices generally come down. Well, that was the plan anyway.....
Best decision I ever made. Unless my wife is watching this, then it's the second best.
