I recently purchased a 1977 from the original owner who had stored the car since 1985. He gave me a new set of door springs and the installation tool (curved screwdriver). He said he bought them but never got around to installing them. The instructions I found just tell you to put the spring in the top half of the hinge and use the tool to bend the spring and it will pop into the bottom half.
It really is not that difficult to do. I did mine on my '77 the other week. Received the pins and tool from Ecklers.
Align the "flat" end at the top, then use the tool and bend back (wear gloves just in case it slips back), once it's pulled back, hold it in place then use a small hammer and tap it up lightly and it should snap right into place. Good Luck
