Default Wheel backspacing

Mine is a 77, running 10" wide centerline rims, and they are just too wide up front. Got some cracked 'glass to show for it. BUT, they were on the car when I traded for it.

I just got a deal on a set of rims and tires, like the ones on the car in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1798075
It is an 84.

Now for the question: how much wheel spacer do I need to be able to run my new rims on my old vette? Right now, up front, they hit the tie rod end. I think the backspacing for the C3 rims is 4", is that right? If so, I can just go from there.

Took it out for a little run last weekend. I have a lot of work ahead of me. It does run, but not well, the p/s feels like a power box that is not working, the car dives to the left when the brake is depressed, the gauges don't work, so I have a little work ahead of me.

Thanks!

Norm

3 3/4" is factory. 4" works with most rims. VB&P makes adapters for what your using (different and much safer than spacers). Tell them what you've got and they'll hook you up. /:\

Thanks! Uhhh, VB&P? I didn't see them listed on the left, do you have a link?

Thanks again,

Norm
