I've got one basic question; I will be glassing in my L88 scoop from Ecklers. I've done some fiberglass repair before, so I'm familiar with working with it. Will I just need bonding adhesive, or will I have to use any matte for the process?
edit: laid it on. looks like a bit of fiberglassing to be done
You could use bonding adhesive if you want. I just ground both mating surfaces and used resin to bond them. Using sheet metal screws every few inches till it cured, then used a few layers mat and resin on both sides and finished with body filler....

You can buy Bondoglass at your local Wal Mart. It's essentially the same stuff as bonding adhesive. One tip; when I did mine, I left the back open. You will not believe the amount of hot air that will be purged out of your engine compartment! It will make you engine run much much cooler!
Ended up bonding the back corners and the front, there is an increasing gap towards the front of the scoop, so I guess I'll be glassing that in. I'm amazed at the strength of the bonding adhesive.
Good tip on the bondoglass. I made the mistake of only getting a quart and don't feel like waiting to order more.

Won't have access to it until Sunday, I can take some then. Lots of panel adhesive so far! It turning out to be pretty easy so far, just a lot of filling/sanding/filling.
