Glass T-Tops
Today I was on a 100 mile road trip and I had a problem with my pass side T-top. I hit the gas up to around 100 and the glass on the top separated from the frame and almost came off. Now the glass is only glued about half the way around. How can I fix this? Where can I get the T-Top repaired?
Well I found a place that will fix my top. They rebuild them and sell new ones.
I guess I am the only person that has ever had a problem like this since there were no replies to this post.

secondly, on these old cars, more often than not, the only place that'll fix this stuff is they guy in the mirror. you know, the guy reading this post.
order a parts cataloge from Ecklers, Corvette America, Mid-America, VB&P then get a shop manual & Assy book.
Perhaps you haven't owned your car for very long? this car will demand that you eventually learn how to spin wrenches on it, even if you don't view yourself as a "mechanically inclined" person.
have a good evening
I figured the picture of the car and tops would give some info, year, type of tops...There is not a part on my 1968 Nova SS that I haven't wrenched on, from the rear end to the grill. Corvettes are not for the beginner. I have found that everything on this car is just a little harder to deal with than a "normal" car. I am about to replace the dash pad and install a nice updated sound system in it.
Seems like the dash is going to be a pain to get apart. To removed the center dash I will need to pull the left tail light, jack the right side of the car up two inches and swing a chicken over my head 3 time wile singing the national anthem and hop on one foot.

wonder if you had both windows "up" when the blowout occurred ???
mine was that I had both windows up and met a huge, box-style truck on a 2-lane road; both of us running 60 MPH + and I remember when we passed, it sounded like a bomb went off in my car..
looked up and could see daylight between the driver side glass-top and frame.
Wow that's kinda scary. Hate to lose half of a $1300 set.
I was driving my friend's little brother out on a country road where the speed limit is 60, so it was at pretty decent speed when he reached up and undid the latch on the passenger side. It's only a 1 latch system since it's a later C3. I don't know how I didn't lose that top, but I would have thrown the kid out of the car at speed if it blew off

You forgot to hold a bent coat hanger with the other hand. No wonder you're havin' trouble.
They repaired my 82 glass tops when the driver side began separating. Someone else recently had the same thing on this forum and I suggested Melrose. $175 or so but it came back as good as new.
