Hey guy's, my brother's car trailer was stolen off of his property 9/7/07 in Topeka Kansas. Thank goodness his Corvette was not on it. I am just posting this because he isn't getting much concern from the authorities there. And if you have ever had anything stolen you know how he feels. Never know where it might turn up.
Regards
Matt
Yet, the name is printed on a trailer that people everywhere see hauling around a hot Corvette? That didn't raise any red flags? Not that knowing just a name is worth a lot.
I agree, thieves work in many different ways. I was followed home a few weeks ago from a trip into town. I noticed every turn I was taking, he'd take also. I lost him after we got on a back road.
Anyway, if they know where they're at and where they can get 'em, it makes them easier to steal. If they know where it's at all the time, they can come back for it anytime!
Garage with no windows. Be aware if someone's following you home.

In the mid 70's a friends 63 SWC coupe was stolen. It turned out the thieves had seen his car at a indoor car show and from his license plate number were able to obtain his home address to later steal the car. Who knows all the diffrent ways thieves work, maybe his name led them to his house at a later date to steal the trailer.
We are now working to try and get it back by posting flyers around town and just getting word out as you never know what may come of our effort.

Well I know I for one will be keeping my eyes open for that tailer. I live in Columbia, MO, so if it makes it this way and I see it you will be the second people I call after the police.

A friend of mine used to handle all the stolen cars here in Columbia, and he told me of this one time a thief exercised amazing patience. The thief found a car he really liked at a used car dealership. It was a late '90's Twin Turbo 300ZX. He went in and they let his test drive it by himself. He used a fake ID and fabricated insurance card, which they photocopied.
He drove it to a local hardware store and made a copy of the key. He then took it back to the dealership immediately.
Then he waited. He knew the car had been sold a few days later, so he just watched and waited.
Eventually, months later, he saw the guy in traffic and followed him until he parked in a Wal-Mart parking lot, where he worked as an eye doctor in the eye center IN that Wal-Mart.
He went home, called a friend, and had the friend drop him off at the top end of the parking lot above where the employees park, and so far away that none of the cameras could get a shot.
He walked right up to the car, used the key to get in, and drive away. It wasn't even reported stolen until later that night when the guy was getting off of work and found his car missing.
They had no clues at all, and no where to look. The guy parked it and covered it on some property he owned where it sat for a few weeks. He said he didn't quite know what to do with it yet.
A person walking through the woods, just out for a hike, found it, and called the police. They found some mail he had left in the car, tracked him down, and arrested him at work.
He fessed up, and got probation.
Needless to say, if someone wants a car, or trailer for that matter...they will get it.
