I was at a car show yesterday and a fellow stopped to talk to me about my Vette. He proceeded to tell me that sometimes they put the build sheet under the carpet under/behind the seat.
Anyone ever heard this, or found one there?
I've read stories here on the forum of guys finding their build sheet in places like behind the carpet, undre the seats, rolled up behind the dash/glove box. I've never found one this way but then I've only looked on two '82s and both where just above the tank like mine here.
Build sheets have beeb found between the speedo and tach, under the carpaet anywhere, in the seat back, one person found one in the frame at the steering box.
Usually the ones found in the car are the sheet 7 of the Corvette Order Copy document. This sheet lists the cars information in a different format. There have been '70, '71 & '72 owners that have found sheets in their cars, in various locations.

So this would be a seprate sheet from whats on top of the gas tank??
Hey FRST, did you go to the Cruise for Charity this weekend?
Sure did and I saw your vette!!!! Which is beautiful by the way!! When I first saw it, I thought about you, but for some reason I thought your license plates were different... How did you like the show?

I enjoyed myself. I won Best Corvette, which means they must not have looked that closely.
My plates are on my avatar, same on the car...
Was your car there? There really weren't a lot of Corvettes. Very custom C5, another black custom '58, yellow '66 (nice), nice red 74 or 75 roadster, a red '61, a few others. Not sure I saw a '73.
I'll probably bring the '69 next year, assuming it's done.

Thats where I found the build sheet on my 77. I was disappointed when I dropped the fuel tank and found no evidence of a sheet on it but when I tore the interior out there it was and in pretty good shape also.

Congrats on the trophy! All the other vettes I saw were in pretty good shape as well.. So thats somethin to be proud of! I know that '75 roadster was pretty nice and looked all correct same goes for the 66!
my vette was there... Just not in the show. My white one is pretty much a driver, and supposedly has the original paint which I find hard to believe.. It's in all original condition and its showing its age. So, I parked it in a parking lot next to A1 locks.. It will be a while til the white '73 sees a show.. I've got big plans for my yellow '73, so I try not to spend too much money on the white one until the yellow ones done...
But, your right as for corvettes being there.. There wasn't much. I even commented to my dad about that. I know of atleast 10-15 C3's in our area and not even one of them were there!
