I bought my late 77 and it had no a/c components with the car except the firewall evaporator with no lines or anything attached. I am trying to figure out what all I need. I purchased the condensor from a forum member and I have the R-4 compressor mounted to the engine. I will buy the receiver drier. Can someone click off a few pic's of the routing of the lines so I know what all I need. Thanks.
Hose looks like this; http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...2&dept_id=1189
straight end to the condensor, curved end to the drier, center connections to the back of the compressor.
I would get some of that silver backed insulation to protect them from the heat off the headers, My 77 burned 2 sets before I figured that out.
Sounds like you have it pretty close. Get a big can of cooling system flush and make sure its nice and clean, then evacuate it for at least an hour, I usually go for 4.
