I have the old Kenwood "Corvette" radio with tape player. I got an IPOD to play thru the cassette player using the cassette adpator, but when engine is running it humms and buzzes with engine rpm.
Anyone know a sure fire way to fix or get rid of it? THX
Ditch the cassette adapter. You lose a ton of sound quality that way and probably let in a lot of RF, too.
Instead, head up to radio shack with a couple bucks and get yourself an Ipod FM Transmittor. It takes the signal and allows you to tune it to 3 different stations, and whatever station you find that has either static or just nothing at all, you set the transmittor to. That way, you don't mess with dirty heads or anything like that.
Get the one that Monster Cable makes.
Or just get a new headunit and eliminate it all together. I had the same radio you have and changed it to a Pioneer CD/MP3/Ipod, and no more alternator whine for me
