Hey guys- awhile ago Corvette Fever magazine ran a bunch of articles where they fixed up a '79 vette and they put in some white gauges with a "Shark Attack" logo on them. Anyone know where we could get some clones?
I found some issues that 'show' the gauges , but not much more information. I thought they looked really good , and if someone was making them , they would certainly be worth a look.
Dec 2006 issue, page53 says instrument gauge sponsor is Autoinstruments.
It must have been a complete and total custom application because even on their own website they don't mention or show any of the work they did on that '79 Corvette which may have included chroming along with the gauges.
That Vette was at Carlisle, PA last year and this past August. They have had it for sale for some time now but are asking way too much. If memory serves me correct, it was approximately $38k. Nothing special about this Vette especially when you look closely at all of the flaws and poor workmanship.
Someone with some money will probably give them what they want for it just because it was a featured vehicle in the mags...

Like the crappy rusty '77 camaro featured in Transformers that sold for $40K?
Durango Boy....
You can send an email to Chris Petris who has a column in the mag...
I bet he will give you the name of the person that they dealt with to create the guages....all it cost is an email...
Good luck
It was definitely in one of the mags......I remember reading about it. They're just stock guages with a custom face if I remember right. Wish I knew who did it for them though.
