So, the a/c was freezing up from too much pressure, but it wouldn't cool with lower pressure. It has been going out for some time. And, the funniest thing, the blower motor would just die sometimes. I found out be accident that if I started the windshield wipers, the blower motor would start. Assuming I could get the wipers to work. What a joke.
So, took it in and found out:
- some sort of wiring harness near firewall for the a/c has two wires that were grounding on each other and somehow shorting out the blower and the windshield wipers.
- need new compressor, drier, high and low pressure lines, poa valve.
- alternator only putting out 32 amps.
- battery won't stay charged.
- vacuum lines controlling heater shut-off valve and some other lines broken/missing.
Getting all repaired by a first class shop and getting to give them $2,500.
Oh well, what's money. Probably overpaying, but want it done right with someone to stand behind it also.
