Transmission Storage
Would I do any damage or cause any problems if I were to drain the transmission fluid from my transmission for long term storage.
The car was in storage for 6 years before I recently acquired it and it has been leaking transmission fluid on my floor ever since. I am about to remove the transmission as I restore the frame and would like to drain it to limit future mess.
Also, can a person set a transmission down on the pan? Or should it be supported somehow when stored?
Also, any harm in storing the engine with all the oil drained?
