Hood latch differences?

The '76 was the last year of the on hood latches. The latches and replaese cable were mounted to the underside of the hood and the firewall only had a pair of spring towers that the latches fell on to latch.
In '77 thy moved the latches and cable to the firewall, leaving only a guide bolted to each side of the hood to catch on the latches.
The former system is much harder to align and adjust, and the newer system clutters up the firewall.
