78 silver anniversary

Looking at a 78 silver anniversary edition L48 automatic with two T-Tops, two tone silver paint, oyster interior, 40,000 miles, all original except radio, been painted, all new belts, hoses, steering pump etc., need price?

How much are they asking? What condition is the car in?

If I was selling it I would ask 12K, but I wouldn't pay more than 6K if I was looking to buy it.

First of all...you need to verify mileage....second....I was at Barret Jackson in Scottsdale,AZ,and a 78 SA L-82 auto with claim of 9700 miles sold for $20,000.....guess what ? Paint was NOT original.

Here is mine with 130,000 miles on original engine..L-82 4 speed....new paint a few years ago..(not for sale...)

he wants 13,000 : is there a big difference between L48 and the L82 in value and horsepower

A few of those were repainted for seam repair... A friend had the seams redone on all four fenders of his SA when the car was brand new!!!

For what it's worth, this will give you an idea of approx price difference depending on condition. Some Forum members think the values are on the high side, but it's good info anyway.

I have that same magazine at home

I used it to help me find a good pirce for the 78 I just bought. I paid 5900 for it but it needs some work. Its a l48 auto but not a silver anniversary.
