Hmmm. We're the same age and both have unmolested '76 Vettes.....
The sticker was glued to the top of the tank but dig around inside first. You might get lucky. Sometimes they would put one inside a seat/under carpet whatever. I've had mine since day one & I've had the interior out but I never found anything. Otherwise you would have to drop the tank. I would think the sticker would be in pretty good shape though since it's a low mile original Vette....
