Not knowing what your car needs, its hard to say...but...

First...Welcome to the forum! Theres unlimited help here..

Second...Congrats on going into the service. I went into the Air Force at 20, best thing I ever did. They paid most of the costs for me to finish college. I ended up retiring from the Navy as a pilot, and now work for a major airline.

Third...Chances are you'll be based stateside, lots of big USAF bases, almost ALL have Auto Hobby Shops. Thats a place where guys can take their cars and do EVERYTHING from change the oil, to doing a total restoration. As a retiree, I've spent MONTHS at the Hobby Shops at McChord AFB and Ft Lewis Army base in Tacoma, WA.

If you owe nothing on the Vette, and its a driver, Id say keep it until you find out where you'll be stationed. Chances are you'll be able to take it with you, and work on it at the Hobby Shop when you're off duty. If you decide to sell it, there will ALWAYS be somebody on the base that'd take it off your hands.

Good luck and congrats!!

Welcome and congratulations on joining the service. I too, joined at a young age(17), and there are hobby shops on Army post in the States as well. It will give you something to do so you don't spend so much time in the local bars. If you need help or have questions there is a lot of knowledge here for the asking.
Good Luck and fill out your profile.
Later,Dave

I bought my first Vette when I was 18. I later bought two more, and had a lot of work done to the first two. I found I didn't have time or money for both so I sold two of them and kept the third.

Things got very tight and I really needed the room and the money but I held my ground and kept that Vette.

I am SOOOOO glad I kept it. Had I sold it I would have regretted it my whole life...not too mention that these cars will only get more expensive and selling it now will only mean you have to buy another one later and it might just cost twice what you sold it for.

IF it's all paid for and not costing you anything other than gas a maintenance...then just garage it while you're in the service and put some money away for it.

Then, when you're ready, get it out and play with it.
