Sometimes I judge the quality of the product by the response of the seller. Depending on their attitude and responses, I can only guess what it is they are trying to sell or misrepresent.
In this case the guy will be paying roughly 6% for the privilege (?) of selling on ebay (3% ebay and 3% paypal) so his selling cost is $100+. If he states the shipping cost up front and it is too high then don't bid. I would prefer to know the cost up front rather than be surprised post auction.

As Ive said 3 times now (yes, this is the last one) I didn't start the thread over the high shipping price, it was regarding the fact he was nasty when I asked him about it.
I always post my shipping prices up front. I agree with everyone who says if they are too high, don't buy.
However, there have been a handful of times when before bidding, I thought the seller might have made a mistake and asked first... and they have either come back and said "whoops, this is what it should be" or "sorry man, but thats the shipping price." Fine, no sweat. However, I dont need the attitude, and I definitely wont buy from sellers with a chip on their shoulder.
Guy has a nice original '69 smog pump setup complete, but wants $60 shipping, which seems excessive, especially with an $1800 Buy it Now price.
I email about the shipping and he says "if its to rich for your blood don't bid thank's."
(I included his inability to spell "too" and "thanks" just for accuracy.
Yeesh.
Rant over.
How come you didn't also point out the incorrect usage of "its", it should have been "it's".
I myself also have been less than tactful when dealing with some buyers on ebay. I would be selling a large item that is "local pick up only" and get six emails from a guy who asks me the shipping costs to Canada. I would finally respond "Don't they teach you how to read English up there, what part of local pick up only don't you understand, eh."
This is only MY opinion, but I really think that our government will require emissions testing in ALL states in 10-15 years. So $1800 is a little high, but in 15 years it will be priceless if you want OEM stuff.

Here in Texas we have had emissions testing for along time. Luckily my 76 non cat passes.
I will go along with the original intent of the post and say that yeah, with a response like that, I wouldn't even consider buying it from that person.
