Mark, sorry to hear about your injury. Get well soon, hopefully surgery will not be needed. I'd get a second opinion, Rich is right, a lot of these Doctors today are quick with the knife. Best of luck for a full and speedy recovery. Keep us up to date on your progress.

Very sorry to here that bud. Hoping you heal up quick. These cars have quarks and I remember on mine I spun out on some wet leaves rounding a corner. The good Lord was definately with me that day.
When I was thinking of working on my car last weekend, I asked myself if I would consider working on the equivelent, like an 3400 lb industrial generator with the jack and jack stands that I have, using the proceedures that I use and with the experience I have,, and I really started to wonder if I would. We have to all remember, that though these cars are pretty and fun, they are really industial grade power machines that weigh 3400 lbs and can seriously injure you in alot of ways, esp when we work on them. Ask yourself, would I do this with a (some inustrial machine)? Then proceed with caution and with Saftey in mind. Sorry to here of your injuries,, hope it's not too serious and your back to 100% soon. C.
Just curious why you would have to push start it in the first place??
I think i would have let it sit until i fixed the starting problem?/
Sorry bout your pain though!
I knew that it was simply a problem with a undercharged battery. And I really wanted to DRIVE!!!!

You recalled my accident completely....Right down to the Levis!!!
The only thing I did differently was to drive it up to the knee!

You all ROCK!!!!

I took these pics last January to illustrate to a friend how it is possible for rear tire to catch your foot..(I'm standing with one hand on steering wheel)..the only funny thing involved when it happened to me is my wife noticed BFG tire tread mark on the back of my Levis pant leg...

Yep,, happened to me this summer,, couple kids helping me push the car back inside and I decided to hop in to press the brakes,,, scared the hell out of me and I still don't understand how come I didn't get hurt.
Good luck,, wish you well.
Add me to the list.
Car stalled in an intersection and wouldn't restart. Had to push her off the road to let traffic pass. As I jumped into the car to steer into a parking lot,my left foot got pinned under the rear left tire, and I was dragged for about 50-60 feet. Ground my ankle down to the bone, not a chance of pulling out from under the P295 50's.Two stainless screws and three skin grafts are my medal of honor.
I hope you recover, and found the problem with the car. Mine turned out to be an ignition module.
Wow this is a very common problem, and I'm noticing everyone gets their left ankle caught when the right leg would be closest to the wheel.
Seems it the angle at which people jump in. It's like the last plant of the left foot as the weight of the body is shifted into the car the leg follows bringing the foot in at a low angle right in front of the car.
Man, I'm so sorry for you guys. I wish everyone with this injury well and a speedy recovery.

That's exactly how I got bit...my left foot got caught and wrenched my knee.....but it knocked me to the ground and the vette stopped with left rear tire sitting on my ankle...I yelled to my son who pushed vette off...happened very fast....
Doctor said I was very lucky not to have fractured my ankle...
WOW!!!!!
I am AMAZED as to how many of us this has happened too!!!!
Maybe we should all get a sticker indicating our mis-fortune.
Any way I am off now to see the specialist to see what he has in mind for me. I have already decided that if there is mention of surgery I will want a second opinion.
Thanks again guys for all your support!!

I'll take my sticker in white as contrast to my black paint

In my case my Doc was not sure about the knee...he wanted to wait a month then re-evaluate before considering surgery......mention to your Doc you'd like some time and see what he says....
