I painted my engine block about a year ago with dupout 500 degree chevy orange paint. After a year it started to peel up. I thought
I prepped it and cleaned the engine thoroghly. Does anybody have any ideas how to clean it, and take the old paint off the engine. Thanks.
If you have the time, Aircraft remover and a brush and a few minutes per patch will eat right through the paint. They, spray if off with water, and do the next patch when it dries. Clean the area thoroughly after the paint is gone, and next time, use Dupli-Color's Engine Enamel.
It's important to treat the engine block like you were doing body paint - it needs to be extremely well prepped. I wash the block with hot water with diswashing soap, dry it, and then go over it with PPG's DX330 wax and grease remover. I've had great luck with the Dupli-Color stuff as well.
