Just finished putting in the VB&P perf plus kit along with new off-set trailing arms and need to get an alignment. Things like the smart strut in the rear and adjustable tie rods from putting in the steeroids kit should make it much easier.
My last 4 wheel alignment took like 20 minutes and $70 ... Where are you people taking you cars to get them aligned?? This was with original style suspension... No VB&P or aftermarket suspensions...
Just had mine done at an experienced shop after a frame off, and he spent 3 hours drive on - drive off. About $160. A chunk of this time was that it was so far off spec his lasars couldn't even find each other.

Thats too fast. They probably aligned the front and just checked the rear.

That's way too fast. I used to work for Hunter and I could barely get the sensors on the wheels and calibrate the aligner in 20 minutes. It probably took me another 40 or 50 minutes to get my Talon dialed in, but I didn't jack around like most alignment shops. Every adjustable setting on my car was EXACTLY on spec, rather than just within the allowable range.
20 minutes to check the alignment and print the sheet if nothing needed to be changed? Maybe.

Yep, no way you could do any actual adjusting in 20 min.

Oh god. I'll be in that boat within the next two weeks.
Found a shop recommended by a fellow forum member in Jersey.
Jack's Alignment Svc Inc
(609) 654-8287
324 Atsion Rd
Shamong, NJ
Any one use them before?
The shop is already 3 hours from my house and I'll have to trailer it there and back.
So I'm to expect 2-4 hours and b/w $100-$200??
Any specific questions I should be asking them??
Should I be booking an appointment now?
I have both front and rear shims.
From: Ville de la Baie Quebec. A winner is just a loser who tried again.
Just under an hour for me,, after a complete suspension overhaul with stock parts. All fours needed shimming,, and I even showed him how to install/remove rear shims. This guy was very experienced and new his machine. $57.00 cad.
Alignment and state inspection just under 90 minutes and $50 out the door. Now before someone throws the bulllsh*t flag, he only charged me for the alignment. Inspection was on him, he owed me one.
I have just redone the entire rear suspension minus the T arms. He really liked those new TA bolts and SS shims. Drivers rear dead nuts, pass. rear swap 1 shim. Both fronts needed a little adj. to the tie rods and off the rack she came.
If your gear is old or rusty it may be a bear. If you have relatively new gear it should be approx. an hour if the alignment guy knows what he's doin'.
Anyone know a decent shop in northern Illinois?
Did the front end on the car and before the front end the car was straight as an arrow. Now it's been on the rack twice and I still have a slight pull. Wheel is a hare off as well. They tell me it's road crown and that the new parts need to settle in. This shop deals only in Vettes as well.
I need a new shop to take it to for an alignment.
Any suggestions?

Good price on the alignment - they usually run $80-100 for four wheels around here. It would be easy to do the inspection at the same time - you're already looking at a lot of the same parts.
Just got mine done at a Chevy dealer.Took 3 hrs. and $110. It's perfect.I had smart struts and stainless rear shims.I had it done once at a Midas shop for a 4 wheel and they only did a 2 wheel.
My last alignment took two days. They had a new kid. So they had to redo his work.
f that. I'll be standing right next to the guy as he does his thing. If it doesn't make sense I'll be sure to point it out.
I'll probably give him a hard time too if he gets in the driver seat. With everything brand new, new engine and new clutch I'll be sweating bullets anytime he drives it off and on the lift.
Will they let me drive it on and off? gotta be against their insurance rules, no?
