Hubbed Rotors
Hello,
I need to replace the front hubs on my '69. Original hubs seem pretty hard to find in good rebuildable shape. Does anyone have any info on what is available in a hubbed rotor design to fit the stock spindles?

What's wrong with your hubs? They're usually about the last part of the car to break. I had to replace one of mine, but that was my own stupid fault. 
I don't know of anyone selling hubbed rotors, unless GM still has some here and there in dealership parts departments. There are lots of used Vette part vendors that should have a pile of hubs laying around - they aren't the most requested bit on the car.

The inner race bores appear to be oversize. An unusual wear pattern on the inner races prompted me to install new bearings. Imagine my surprise when I found I could push the new Timken races all the way to the stop, by hand.
Don't know for sure how this happened. Receipts from the previous owner show that the bearings were replaced a couple hundred miles ago at a reputable shop. The rapid wear suggests that the races were loose then. Warranty is not a consideration as I began restoration on the car shortly after I bought it three years ago..... Guess I'm stuck with replacing the hubs on top of everything else.

Call Gruhala Enterprises in DeSoto, MO (it's in the online yellow pages). I know he should have plenty of hubs around - like I said, they're not parts that get trashed too often. He supplied the replacement when I screwed up one of mine.

Long ago discontinued from GM (2001). Does show the same part number from 69-82, though. One dealer in Winston Salem NC shows two of them on the locator, and they are the only one! It is Modern Chevrolet and the number is (800)334-0165. Ask for part number 3991024.
