Ok guys I've finally gotten back to the long term restoration after a 7 year layoff.
I know, but the kids came first and now that they are in their late teens, I get some of my life back
I will gladly accept any advice given and hope to be somewhat of an expert when this thing hits the road.
I admire all the guys here that have completed F/O rebuilds and can imagine the gratification that you feel every time you fire it up.
So stay tuned and let the fun begin.
Oh, and heres a couple of pics of the old girl.
Pardon the quality, we'll work on that!
Yes, I am taking it down to bare bones.
This project started out as replacing all the bushings that were still original, imagine that... rubber going bad after 28 years
Then I figured whatever I do to it now is only going to have to come apart again when the frame needs to be cleaned up. So I might as well only do this once.
Like the other guy on the foum stated " it started by changing a fuse"
I almost wish my Vette had been in a little worse shape so I could do a frame off, but I just couldn't justify the extra work when it was all pretty much still good.
I may eventually, but not right now.
Make sure you take lots of progress pics and update this thread.
I will take a ton of pics, so it goes back together and also for a scrap book.
Time line is hard to say, I still have honey do's around the house to keep her off my back
Thanks guys, you're right the values are very close to flip flopping (is that a word) soon.
I will post as the progress goes on, but I'm gonna need every ones help...can you say 10 step program... to stay on track.
