Corvette Rims

Hi, Just picked up a 1980. The black out section on the rims look terrible. They are full of rock chips and you see more chrome than black.

I guess I would need to paint them. If this is the case, what type of black do I use (paint brand, code etc.)

I didn't think the 80 had the black painted center? Anyway you can remove the paint and polish them for a cleaner look or sand and repaint them black.

I spoke with a local Vette shop about the same issue with my wheels. They suggested using self-etching primer followed by trim paint.

Wheel Paint

I had the same problem on my 80 coupe,but all I did is clean the wheels and used rustoleum paint and applied it with a foam brush,very easy to do and it looks great!
