GM didn't keep good records of option combinations. The hand-crank windows are pretty unusual, though. I assume the crank holes are punched through the map pockets?

It sounds like your car is a base car with no (or few) options and probably an early car. AC, power windows, and tilt steering became standard during the year. You may have gotten a car after AC was standard.

Of course, often there are options most do not think of as options or even realize are on the car, like the convenience group, the lighted mirror, heavy duty battery, dual rear speakers, and so on.

Offhand, I'd say there was around 5000 base cars looking at the numbers. What percentage were black and light beige is unknown, but over 10,000 '79s were black, so if percentages held true, you'd have around 900 - 1000 black base cars.

Don't think it means anything, though, as a '79 is still a '79 and it can be as "rare" as it can be and still only be worth what a '79 is.

Power windows were an option in 1978-1979....standard in 1980-1982

My 79 L82 with CR 4 spd(only 3494), Yellow(only 2357), no power locks, no power windows, has a/c and tilt-telescopic steering wheel. For a 79 i bet thats a very rare combo.
But you wont get any respect for it be'n rare, sence it's a 79 and 53,807 were made that year.
Just enjoy the fact you got a CORVETTE!!!
And be thankfull we have it way easyer to find parts for this year and there are plenty in the junk yard's.

Didn't ask this question to get it's value. Just wondered how many were set up like this. The is a daily(fast)driver. It has a modifeid zz4(400hp). Suspension redone, lowered the car, lower profile wide tires. Holds the road like a gokart. Ran it Labor day 06 at Pocon Racetrack in the Northeaster high winds rained like hell. Ran fast on the straights held real tight in the turns. I suprise a lot of cars when they think they're up against a stock 79. I really do enjoy it, drive it nearly every day. I get the respect one someone takes on what they think is a stock 195hp Vette. Love the looks on their faces as I pass them. 40 series flowmaster kinda let most people know it's not stock. But again thanks for the info and get out and drive!

Thought I'd jump in... Just bought my first corvette , funny thing is, It has the same options(it's a 79) but I have a tilt steering wheel and the interior is dark green with dark green exterior(it's black now but going to change back).
