Default Brake light problems

My 1968 was driving me crazy with a brake light problem. The left brake light would not work at times. The rear wire harness was replaced two years ago. I re-did the grounds, checked the connectors, and checked the new harness for continuity and voltage. Everything would check out but it would give me problems from time to time. I finally found that the turn signal lever would droop when I hit a bump. The lever would move enough to interfere with the brake light but not turn on the signal. My next project is to replace the turn signal switch. I chased this problem for a few months so I hope this info may help someone else.

Have you tested all the contacts in the sockets to make sure you are getting ground and 12V at each contact when the appropriate switches are applied?

Good information, and thanks for sharing it.
This is the kind of weird problem that has one tearing their hair out (and some of us don't have that much anymore)
