I was thinking of going with Hagerty(even though they won't insure an '88).
Anyway, they ask if your car is "stock" or "modified". Their explanations are vague. I know there are so many different things you can do to your car to "modify" it, but what about a different hood or having sidepipes? Could this still be considered stock? Its not like its a custom fabrication or that I have a 500HP motor in it and the premium is almost double if considered "modified"
My 77 is slightly "modified" with sidepipes, a cam, and a shift plate...but it did not seem to fall under "modified" with the Insurance Co. I would consider major alterations as "modified", not just exhaust or a hood.
Just to be clear, I would call them and have them explain "Modified". From what I have learned, all insurance companies have different thoughts on this.
