I am changing my head unit, and I am trying to find the source for the aftermarket bezels that clean up the area around the head unit after cutting for a DIN sized radio.......anyone know where to get these from?
Persactly where I got mine at a few years ago. Seems like I asked the same question and someone helped me out too. They also make a precut metal bezel that you can buy but they are priced way up there.
Thanks for the link. I did use the search tool, but it turned up nothing for me, so I must have used the wrong search terms. BTW, I always try searching first.

Did you try the archives? This one hasn't come up for a while, it's possible that the last thread was already in storage.
I bought the plastic trim plate and didn't like the fit nor the fact that the only thing holding it in place was the radio mount so I bought the metal one from The Last Detail for $15 maybe? It is held in place with it's own mounting nuts.
It also fits better and doesn't flex. Do yourself a favor and call TLD. One other thing...the paint matches the console much better than the plastic molding.

Would you happen to have the part number? I searched their site and I can't find it. I would rather have a metal one that looks and fits better.

Vette Specialties is the place with the metal bezel but the cost is $65. http://www.vettespecialties.com/
I bought a new bezel from TLD and hacked it up to add this part. It has a nice black wrinkle finish and is pretty close to matching the color of the new bezel. Looks good when finished and mounts very solid. The cost is a lot more than the plastic piece but its something you have to look at all the time so I didn't want a plastic piece there either.

Thanks BB.
That look perfect. I am more concerned about how it looks rather than what the custom bezel costs, so that will work fine. Looks like I will have to wait, they are currently out of stock!
I'm looking at these with some interest, but can't seem to figure out how they install. Can someone enlighten me? I was not looking forward to giving Ecklers $200 for the DIN bezel.

You have to cut a DIN sized opening in your existing bezel, and then it looks like the metal version has studs that other flat pieces of metal go over behind the bezel, thereby "clamping" the new trim piece to the existing bezel. With the plastic version, it looks like only the radio holds that one in place, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the info. That really sounds like a terrific alternative to giving Eckler's all that money for their bezel.
RunningMan, yours turned out great. Did all of those pieces you used come with the radio or did you use some of the installation stuff mentioned in some of the other posts?

Just the stereo and the plastic MillionBuy face plate, pictured above. You have to cut it to the Din opening, it has a grove around the back, inside. I used a clamp, a table, a peice of junk plywood for a base and sheetrock knife with a coulpe of brand new blades to cut it. just retrace the cut over and over untill it's free. Wear eye protection, the tip of the blades is brittle. Watch bodyparts unless you consider some of them to be spare. Turned out great.
