Is that a real one??!! If I was rich, I would leave the Ferrari's to the doctors and buy a Shelby Daytona. Man, those cars are rolling sex.

No, it is a kit car. Don't be fooled though - these things do not even come close to fitting when you receive one. It took a lot of work to get it to look like that!

WOW! I just read through from the first page to 111!!! To parrot all the previous accolades - WOW! You not only have skills Jeremy but your attention to detail, your drive for perfection (alias **** - know that one personally) and your years of dedication to get your 76 done! Great job young man!

I for one cannot wait to see the your car in paint and the huge smile on your face as you drive down the street for the first time.

You know that old saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Well, this "old dog" has learned a bunch on your thread. I grew up around cars and have never been afraid of doing anything on my Vettes. Watching your process of glassing the front & rear bumpers will aid me when I do the same thing to my 78 and then some.

If you still need that T-Top trim piece - I have one. Just need a shipping address. If you'd like pictures - PM your email address. The piece is nice and has the small front trim piece with it. It is missing 2 of the clips that hold the trim i place. Let me know.

Again, terrific job!

John

Not the vette, but something to keep this thread going. The 65 Shelby Daytona left on Friday.

Hello Jeremy - The Daytona is beautiful - you & the AR guys do very nice work. Paint looks awesome (who does the painting at the shop?) Not to get off topic here but what is the story on this car? Is the owner finishing off the last details on the Daytona? Type of drivetrain? Alberta car? Now back to your car - how is it progressing? Need more photos of the build.

Regards - BK3

The owner is assembling the rest of it and having it polished by a friend of his. That paint job has yet to be wetsanded and polished...looks nicer right now than some of the polished jobs I have seen by other shops. He also owns the Gold Hertz AC Cobra kit car we built a while back. He's going to try and bring both of them down to the BBQ.

Byron, my boss, is the painter. He pretty much does everything...metal work, glass work, insurance work, paperwork, estimates, PR... you name it...the guy can do it all, he's extremely talented. He's currently teaching me how to paint. The vette is going slow. I did mount the right door yesterday for final gapping though. Hopefully I'll be able to mount the left door tomorrow night. Customer's cars come first obviously!

It was a team effort. All of us worked on the Daytona...Byron, Trevor, me, Vince and Matt.

Jeremy, I am old enough to be your dad but I must say that I've learned more from your photos and documentation about C3 Corvettes than I have learned collectively anywhere else. I can't help but believe that your own dad is exceptionally proud of you. Thank you very much for you willingness to share your experience with invaluable photographic documentation. It is helping me complete my own restorod Vette too. I believe that you can accomplish anything that you set as a goal. Best of luck with the completion of your fantastic Vette. You are inspirational. JD

Thanks for the compliment. I'm trying my best to work on it whenever I can after work...it gets done when it gets done I guess. I can't beat myself up about it like I used to.

I started glassing the inside of the front bumper today.
