I havent seen a difference in any set(exept for the ones with a flat cap that were not for vettes).I looked at different sets for a while before I bought a set for my 68.) I also believe that they all went on the rallye wheels. If I am mistaken please let me know.

If I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me, but my understanding is the P01 wheel cover is '68 only for correctness, and was referred to as a bright wheel cover. The P02 was used starting in '69 and was referred to as the Deluxe Wheel Cover.

The two fit the same but the '68 used a 15"x7" wheel where 15"x8" wheels were used starting in '69. They are interchangeable on a 15" rim.

Respectively for each year all Corvette wheels were the same...painted Argent Silver and were equipped with either the year correct wheel cover or the trim rings and center and called Rally Wheels.

My understanding that about the only difference between the P01 and P02 wheel covers was the center of the cover protruded more on the P02...enough that I've banged my shins a number of times walking past them.

So we are talking about the same thing basically more or less. The 69 is little wider and that is it huh?

Just wondering cause I was thinking about getting a set for my 68

As I said, it's my understanding the real difference between the P01 and P02 is the center piece sticks out more on the P02. If you're looking for a set, the P02's are far easier to find, though still pricey for a good set. Last year at Carlisle I saw a set of NOS P02 wheel covers and the asking price was $1800. Excellent used sets were in the $600-$800 range with a restored set at $1200.

Other Chevrolet's such as the Caprice used a nearly identical wheel cover. The center piece with the crossed flags was the real difference.
