I tried several different ways to make a head unit fit in my glove box but there is just no way it will fit. I looked into the replacement bezel for a DIN head unit and they want $189.00.
I bought a post replacement bezel for $58.00 on ebay and for the price difference I can cut it to fit and keep the origional.
Yep, lots of guys have cut their gauge bezels for a modern head unit.
When marking and cutting, cut a little smaller then what you think you need. If the cage is a tight fit you can always file more away but if you make the hole too big you can't add material back to make it a snug fit.
I used a set of dividers, a coping saw and a file. It is very easy.
I cut my original one I don't understand the big deal about keeping the original one.
What are dividers? I guess the part is a 30 year old origional part only 1 time. I want to have everything if I or someone else would want to return it to stock one day?
