I need to pull my 81 chassis and have been speaking to several shops. One has told me he couldn't pull it unless the suspension and wheels were on it. I have the chassis stripped completely and assumed that it would be a matter of putting the chassis on a frame straightener and realigning to the specs found in the shop manual( specifically cross dimensions and heights above a level surface). Can anyone advise? Should I rebuild the suspension first and then take it to a shop or find someone that is willing to pull a bare chassis?
you don't need the suspension in it. when you pull for height you need to block up the frame anyway because the pulls will only compress the suspension instead of pulling the rail down. the frame will need to be blocked up evenly and chained down in various places according to the pulls being done to it.

Maybe the guy just can't move it around by himself.
i am with no 2 he proberly has no way of moving the chassis around even tho i have had my 61 chassis done he wanted the chassis completely assemblied with motor and trans this way it was loaded with weight and could tell how it was going to sit after he was done i installed the body and drove car it went perfectly straight without needing a wheel alignment after 2500 miles the tires still look like brand new no wear whatso ever , i am getting ready to send him a 72 he wants it complete also but i have the body on this one but no nose incase he has to pull allot, i straightend it myself with a bulldog, it hit a pole sideways at 70 or 80 it was twisted and bent pretty good on both sides now it drives straight but i want it checked on an elctronic machine anyway to make it perfect i'll be able to see the difference between old machines and new ones, good luck artie
