I have a stock 1980 corvette . I put hooker headers on with true dual exhaust back to the stock mufflers. How much horsepower should I expect to gain ?
It depends, you could be up 20 or more.
This gives some idea of what's possible. http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/ganeyexhaust.htm
Also gas milage can go up about 1 mpg w/ duals & another 1 w/ headers.

Your gains will be minimal without head work or better flowing heads all together. Air in and air out is the key.
You will feel a boost in power!!! Numbers are just numbers maybe 15 to 20. Drive it like you stole it Then climb under it and recheck/tighten all your clamps and bolts. Good Luck
Drove it about 20 miles today , I couldn't tell any difference sounds good though.
Have you considered a Vortec head, intake, and cam swap? The swap alone on an L48, will net around 100 HP when combined with good exhaust. The heads can be bought cheap used at almost any salvage yard, and can be installed with very no machine work. A cheap Summit cam and lifters combo tops off the swap. Overall, I think a 100 HP gain for around $700 is very good.

Just let me know. I would be happy to help you fin some cheap heads and I have the part number for the cam if you like. The intake is easy to find and cheap on Ebay.
Machine work on the heads are really not needed, but there are a few things that help. Screw in studs and guide plates are very nice. If you don't use guides...self aligning rockers are suggested.
Probably less than 6-8 HP, about the same for torque - not enough for a SOTP difference. Completely agree that heads/cam swap would make a huge difference. Not sure about 100HP, but 50+ depending on the cam, etc.
