Default Spring Ratings 1971

Looking for a performance suspension package for my 1971 corvette. One kit has a 550lb front and 315lb rear (Eckler’s) and the other has a 460lb front and a 340lb rear (VB&P). It is a small block car with about 400hp. Suggestions…

Just what kind of "performance" are you looking for? Also, is your car balanced now, and what do you currently have as far as springs, shocks, bars and ride height? Auto or stick? Share what you've got and what you're after, and the advise you get should (theoretically) point you more accurately in the right direction.

Depends on how stiff you want the ride. The 460 front springs are stock rate and the 550s are big block spring rate. I bought the VB&P kit with the 550 front and 360 composite rear spring. I'm also using an engine that is lighter than an iron smallblock. I'm expecting the ride to be VERY firm. So far lowering the engine and trans onto the frame barely gets the upper control arms off the bump stops.

Its a small block auto car and I'm looking for some performance. Its my wife car and will likely never be raced. She does like to drive it hard some don't want the body roll and loose feel of stock.
