Mark, interesting what do you think they will go for? I'll be finally looking at the 70 LT-1 I was speaking of tomorrow. It is a numbers correct car witht the A.I.R. removed or rather missing. I'll also find out (tomorrow) what paper work she has. If, the build sheet is not with the car...did they only put them on the tank? Thanks Muddy

too rich for me... which is why I've been focused on coupes. There's a '72 on there now that looks interesting but it's hood paint is messed up. That really turns me off. I'd rather have bad original paint on the hood than a mis-matched job.
I sold a very nice green 70 LT1 convertible that was fresh painted, new interior, restored underneath, and original motor with the correct intake, carb, and TI setup for $55K to a dealer who said he was going to ask $69K for it. According to NADA, the 70's go for a lot more than the other years.
They also have a so called 67 L88 engine for sale at $20,000.00 with a blank pad. This is a phony without the pad having the "IT" letters and date of build on that pad. Merely completely blank is not correct and really just a plain 4 bolt main 427. Nothing special about it especially for 20K.
Both cars are listed on the Proteam Corvette site for $90K each. I think they are overpriced but like anything they are only worth what someone else will pay for it. If you want to see alot of corvettes--drive over and look at Proteam--they have a great selection in one place and all their salepeople seemed very knowledgeable.

Muddy, I'll be interested to hear about the car you look at. Prices for the ones on ebay? It's hard to say. For the red starting at $50K, based on the description I think it should be easily worth that. As for the proteam cars, $35K starting seems low, but as noted, it's hard to tell what the undercarriage looks like. On all three cars, I'm surprised that there are no bids yet. If I didn't just buy a 65 I'd probably be looking at all the cars more closely.
It was actually the Corvette Order Copy on the tank. The actual Corvette Order, I believe, was delivered with the original paperwork. An Order Copy was placed on the tank and in some cars you can find other Order Copies throughout the car. I've attached a Order Copy from a car that I owned (top pic). I also had the tank sheet (bottom pic) which was identical except very hard to read. The actual order (middle pic, different car) was the same as the copy except it contained additional infromation such as vin, engine pad numbers, transmission numbers, etc. The actual Order is better documentation then the copy but few cars have the Order.

There are currently 3 70 LT-1 convertibles for sale on ebay. Two are from Proteam, all have "documentation". Anybody familiar with these cars?
I will be surprised if they sell. Probably won't meet the reserve set, although as a new LT-1 owner I hope they do! LOL. Probably just a very inexpensive way to get some advertising and marketing exposure. Look at all the free publicity they're getting here.
I've answered a few ads on eBay and been referred to a dealer website. Really not a bad way to get advertising bang for your buck!
