If your engine is running at a higher temperature than it should you need to determine why. Get to the bottom of it and correct the problem. Putting a scoop on your hood wont fix the problem. Now if you want the engine to get more air, just to have more air, well thats another story. I just dont see anything nicer than a factory hood. Maybe a different year possibly, or the L-88 hood but yours looks fine to me. I would be afraid to butcher it and end up with something ugly. Maybe someone could post some hood shots for you. Maybe there are some with mods that look good and prove me wrong

I agree with you. The engine running hot is a separate problem. I was hoping that a new hood would solve some of it.
To get started you should get a good rad and a good fan and you should not have any problem of over heating if you have the original motor. Mine have all the air comming from the grill block by my black-out kit and never had any problem of over heating. I get my air from under the bumper from the front spoiler.
