Default corvette insurance

I'm frustrated!....If I insure my '72 Vette with the same companies that I insure my other cars with, the adjuster tells me that the company will probably pay out less than 6K if the car is wiped out. Historic Auto insurance isn't any good, as far as I can tell, if you drive your classic car to work each day and leave the car unattended in a public lot. I'd like to know how you other folks deal with insurance on your classic car if you really drive it other than for pleasure and to shows on weekends.

thanks...

Dennis

I just got off the phone this morning with my insurance broker about upping my coverage on the vette. I use State Farm and my agent is a friend from High School and he also has a '66 corvette insured with State Farm. I am getting dollar for dollar replacement if I have an accident, based on a recent appraisal.

Now with that said, You are dealing with insurance companies who's best interest is their shareholders and over paid executives, They are not in business to make your life easier or profitable. So I'm sure somewhere in my policy there is some fine print that basically says sucker, we ain't going to give you a dime.

Grundy Worldwide. One of the best. Have 3 vehicles with them.

Hagerty and Grundy both are for occasional use drivers, not to be drivein back and forth to work. Sorry Djohan, I dont' have an answer for you on this one. Mine is insured with Hagerty but it's a weekend driver only.

I'm insured with State Farm and have "an agreed value policy" Meaning I requested a certain replacement value and they agreed to it - In writing. No restrictions on use of vehicle - their only requirement is that I use it responsibly. State Farm may not be the best and it certainly in my book is not the worst - they give refund checks, which they call dividends cause the insured are actually the share holders in the company. I think it's like $186.00 every six months.
