I have a 74 convert with no upper screws or holes in door panels.
Is this unusual ?

Well, yes, as most do by now, there are original trim screws and there are screws stuck through the corners.. There were the two screws that hold in the door pull, there three perimeter screws, , door handle screw, and the plastic Vel-Cro snaps.

My replacement panels from corvette america have no mounting provision at the upper corners. I was thinking some industrial strength velcro might work in these 2 spots

Sometimes the outer vinyl is folded over the brass bushings, covering them up. They're there, though, and you can feel them through the vinyl.
