Default Vette in black primer

I've heard some on here wondering what a Vette would look like in black primer. My '72 was primed this weekend, and it looks so good in primer I almost want to sand it, clear it, and leave it that way! Think I'll stick to the original plan of a finished black coat, but man it turned out nice.

It's ridiing a bit high because alot of the weight (doors, headlights, radiator, interior, etc.) is out, but you get the idea.

Heck I love cars in primer in general, but that black mat finish is fantastic. Take a LOT more pics, and you can show them off when someone asks the very same question down the road.

Default Stealth Vette!

That is totally bad-a*z. Going the low-gloss look would be most excellent. You already have some choice rims, but a cool way to accent that flat black would be to go with wheels that are mainly blacked-out.

Regardless, you've got a great project there.

If you leave it like that. The number one question you will be asked, will be. When are you going to paint it?
It gets old, most people don't get it.

Very slick looking! I agree with the others, and keep it that way. Can't wait to see it completed. Great work.

By the way, I want to be the first to compliment you on your tape work. It's almost an art, I have found, and can make a huge difference in the quality of the paint job. Good work.

I wish I could take credit for that, but a friend of ours who is a body guy has been coming over on the weekends to help. Well, I actually help him and he does most of the work. James (his name too) is definitely an artist and is the main reason the body looks so good. He works at Classic Car Coating in Fort Pierce, FL and they do some awsome work.

He also painted the my '82 CE including the stripes on the hood and sides.

I'm not going to leave it in primer, but it defintely looks wicked!

Black primer looks good on the C3 !! Don't forget to "black out" tail lights and licence plate to complete the "package"....
